On the 26 November 2024, 32 participants from around the world joined the second GEO Mountains General Meeting of 2024 virtually. Opening with words of welcome and introduction were given by the Initiative’s Co-Leads.

We would like to thank everyone who submitted a proposal to the GEO Mountains Small Grants Programme 2024–2025. In total, 99 proposals were received. 

We warmly congratulate the 10 projects which were selected following external review. Each will receive up to CHF10,000. 

MRI Scientific Officer Dr. James Thornton will represent GEO Mountains and the MRI at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting 2024, which will take place in Washington D.C., USA, from 9–13 December 2024.

The GEO Mountains Task Groups Kick-Off Meeting took place on 9 October 2024, marking an important step in the advancement of GEO Mountains' Implementation Plan for 2023-2025.
