The MEaSUREs Greenland Ice Mapping Project (GIMP) Land Ice and Ocean Classification Mask, Version 1 dataset, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated.
This dataset, part of the NASA Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Program, provides a complete land ice and ocean classification mask for the Greenland ice sheet, using a combination of imagery from the USGS Landsat 7 ETM+ and Landsat 8 OLI instruments and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) from the Canadian Space Agency’s RADARSAT-1.
In the updated dateset, temporal coverage has been expanded, with land ice and ocean masks added for the year 2020. The dataset now provides land ice and ocean masks for the years 2000, 2015, and 2020.
