In its current Work Programme, GEO distinguishes between three different types of Work Programme Activities: Pilot Initiatives, Initiatives, and Flagships. GEO Mountains is a GEO Work Programme Initiative.
GEO Mountains seeks to collaborate on activities with the four regional GEOs (AfriGEO, AmeriGEO, EuroGEO, AOGEO), as well as other GEO Work Programme Activities (e.g. GEO BON, GEO Human Planet, GEOGLOWS, among others).
GEO Mountains is routinely represented at GEO’s regular annual meetings (namely GEO Week, the GEO Symposium, and the GEO Open Data & Open Knowledge Workshop).
We also seek to engage with and contribute to GEO’s five dedicated Working Groups, namely:
- Capacity Development
- Climate Change
- Data & Knowledge
- Disaster Risk Reduction
- Resilient Cities & Human Settlements
