Contribute to the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO) Rolling Review of Requirements (RRR) for Terrestrial Snow Observation
Members of the snow and adjacent communities are invited to take part in a short survey (less than 10 minutes) focused on the prioritization of snow variables for terrestrial snow observation. Please note, this survey is different from the GCOS Community Snow Survey of 2024.
The results of this survey will contribute to the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO) Rolling Review of Requirements (RRR) for Terrestrial Snow Observation, led by the Global Cryosphere Watch (GCW). This process involves gathering information on observational requirements and capabilities, and providing recommendations for addressing observational gaps.
Specifically, the Terrestrial Snow RRR focuses on two key Application Areas within the broader WMO Cryosphere Earth Systems Application Category:
1. Terrestrial Cryosphere Monitoring and Forecasting
2. Cryosphere Climate Monitoring
Further background information is provided at the beginning of the survey.
The survey will close on April 25, 2025.
Contributors are thanked for their time and inputs, which will directly contribute to the RRR for Terrestrial Snow Observation.
